This exhibition celebrates the diverse work of ten emerging artists during their two year Diploma in Art and Contemporary Craft at West Dean College. The artists present recent works that connect through the theme of ‘Emergence’; emergence of themselves as artists, emergence of the work itself from struggle and labour, emergence of solutions to problems encountered during the processes of making.

The group has worked collaboratively to install the exhibition from its initial concept to the final evaluation.

The range of work includes painting, drawing, print, textiles, sculpture, 3d mixed media installation and film.

Selected pieces speak to one another across the gallery (and outside) and leave room for the viewer to experience the dynamics that emerge in the spaces between.
